My Mom received her present/prize from the Sideshow Collectibles Sideshow Gives Back Program!! I nominated her and my Dad a few weeks ago for all they do for our family. Some points I highlighted about my Mom included how she went above and beyond to make my 19th birthday on November 11th amazing. She surprised me when I woke up a few days before the day with Star Wars cupcakes and she was so proud that she had searched far and wide to find me Star Wars rings. She had forgotten we had Star Wars edible toppers we bought special. When I brought it up I said why don’t we make a batch of vanilla cupcakes? She was reluctant but she did it to make me happy. She spent 4 hours all on her own creating a custom Star Wars birthday cake for me, completely handmade and hand frosted. She spent hours personally wrapping my large amount of Star Wars presents in Star Wars wrapping paper. She goes above and beyond every day for me and my 17 year old little sister. This year included an event I never thought would happen: a car accident involving my Mom being rear ended as she sat still, stopped in a turn lane. She was thankfully not gravely injured. Her knee was injured as it hit the dashboard and over a year later she is still having to go to appointments every few weeks to get painful shots put in it. Even worse, her beloved car she’s had since we were children was totaled. We kept the car to use in our backyard up north for fun, but the frame was slightly bent so it isn’t officially road worthy. It broke her heart. My Dad bought her that Jeep as a present for having a new family to cart around in it in 2004 when I was born. The guy didn’t even say sorry for rear ending her. My Mom always helps me with my Star Wars instagram, and is always enthusiastic about everything we do, and loves to host giveaways for other people with me when we can. She loves to pose my Grogu dolls for photoshoots for online events, and has recently taken to painting them handmade onesies for contests. She celebrates every milestone I’ve hit this past year and every giveaway I’ve won with more excitement than you’d imagine. She even helped me paint wooden ornaments for a craft exchange I was a part of. Although me and my Mom don’t always get along, in my eyes she deserves the world. So thank you Sideshow. Because when she heard a delivery truck pull away from the house, although we were not expecting any packages (sideshow never reached out to me so I didn’t even know this was coming), she opened the door to the porch and walked in with this big giant box, addressed to her, and she’s so excited to open it. I had to try to convince her to wait until Christmas lol. She feels so special to have been chosen for this event out of many applicants. She can’t wait to see what it is. And it’s kind of the bane of my existence that I can’t remember what I selected to give to her lol. And I’m glad I was able to give my Mom a gift, because I had no idea what to give her, and she said she didn’t need anything, so I wasn’t going to get her anything. But now I have a gift for each member of my family, a small Funko for my Dad, and obviously many gifts for my little sister, because she got me quite a few as I’m told lol. Thank you so much Sideshow! And Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to everyone!! 🎄🎁
