It’s been a really long time since I posted new items to the collection. Life has been a roller coaster in the last year with a lot of changes. Things are finally settling and I have even got my display cases built (finally!). So this means I need to get back to unpacking and photography of numerous figures that have been sitting collecting dust on their boxes. Today I am showing off Hot Toys Clone Trooper and Geonosis B1 Battle Droids. It’s fun to have an option for clone and droid army building without looking for decade+ old figures. There have been great improvements since someone last produced these. Clone Trooper is pretty standard if you have a 501st Trooper. Nice weathering so he’s not completely shiny. Swap out portraits and a good array of accessories. Articulation is good if you are patient and work with the armor. I really wish I could have snagged a couple of these, the aftermarket is just so expensive. Honestly it’s baffling that a generic figure like this that would be collected in multiples are so limited in quantity yet the quantity of certain unique characters are so high that they are fire sold on the regular. But I digress. Battle Droids are very fun. Coming with the swap out C-3PO head is fun, though I doubt I will ever display it that way. I was lucky enough to grab two of these. Brittleness of the limbs seems less of a concern than with the older Sideshow ones, though you still need to be careful to hold near the joints when adjusting. We still have some delicate parts which is understandable. I wish there was at least a little diecast in these, they are very light. Really large range of motion though. Adding the clear clip to backpack to store rifle is a welcome addition, though I wonder why we didn’t just do a magnet option. End of the day, these are fun pieces for the prequel fan and for army builders. Lots of options in how you display. This gives a lot of personality to these figures and I welcome them happily to stand next to my existing droids. Until next time…. #SideshowCollectibles #HotToysCollectibles #StarWars #HotToysPhotography #ToyPhotography #YesSideshow #CollectorCommunity
