I have a question. Maybe an admin or fellow collector can answer. First, a short story to set the table... A few days ago I had a big waitlist item come available. This is a grail for me. I couldn't believe it. One of my all time favorite characters and limited edition of just 399! Up until now the largest purchase I've made from Sideshow Collectibles has been 1/10 scale statues and 1/6 scale figures. This would be a big leap outside of what I'd normally spend but it would be something I'll cherish for years. I've had waitlist items open up to me only to go in and discover I missed my chance. So, there I was thinking I've got to act fast if I'm going to get this. I was practically shaking and holding my breath through the whole checkout process. Well, I got it! It's been a solid few days of excitement ever since imagining just how and where I'd display this piece. Then today I was searching randomly online for other future pieces to dream about only to find the piece I just put a $170 non refundable deposit on being sold in other places online for $400 less! I could buy this item through another company adding in the $170 and shipping and it would still be less than going through Sideshow before even factoring shipping. :( I know. Buyer beware. Shame on me. But is there any chance Sideshow would work with me on refunding the deposit or at least putting it as a credit towards another purchase? Is there ever a price matching option? Am I just out of luck? I'd rather purchase through Sideshow but even in the worst case scenario of canceling and losing my deposit it'd make more sense for me to do that and buy elsewhere as it stands. Thank you to anyone and everyone who read this whole post (sorry it is long) and can offer some advice. Looking forward to getting back to being excited about getting this statue.
